The fast food and drive thru giant announced a new restaurant grading system it plans to roll out in January of 2023. Dubbed PACE (Performance and Customer Excellence), the new grading system will include 6 to 10 inspections a year per location.

Some of McDonald's franchisees feel that the new "grading systems may alienate workers." McDonald's responded by saying,“We must remain laser focused on maintaining our world-famous standards of excellence in our restaurants. This comprehensive performance management system, designed with ongoing input  from franchisees will offer tailored support and coaching to restaurants to help provide a seamless McDonald’s experience that will keep customers coming back.”

With drive thru and online ordering playing a much bigger role, McDonald's new grading system is to answer to a new consumer base to ensure that the company is keeping up with the times.
