Security cameras absent when Dr. Phil's car stolen from Burbank
Burbank, Ca - August 29, 2012 - Phil McGraw's (from the TV show Dr. Phil) 1957 Chevy Bel Air was reported stolen earlier this week from a Los Angeles based custom automobile fabrication shop. Burbank Police reported that the facility had an alarm system which was triggered midnight on Sunday, but lacked any type of CCTV or security camera system to aid in the investigation. Investigators with the Burbank Police Department that the thieves pried open a metal roll-up gate to the shop to get to the car. This is after they cut the locks to a security gate.
Law enforcement across the Country strongly recommends the proper installation of security camera systems to help in preventing crimes. Police regularly point to CCTV as the paramount investigative tool in solving crimes. Surveillance systems have the ability to accomplish two tasks simultaneously. The major complaint when cameras are present is the 1) the low quality of system or 2) improper design/installation of the CCTV systems lacking proper coverage.
